Rocket Reeds
This is the Rocket Reed Page. We do not sell imitation
Rockets. We sell the real thing, when we have them in stock. Rocket Reeds were invented by and are
manufactured by Mark Lee. There are two kinds of Rockets: carbon tongue and
glass tongue. As a rule of thumb, the carbon tongued reeds are mellower than the
glass tongued ones. The physical dimensions of the reed and tongue effect the
tone, pitch, strength, and steadiness of the reed. Each set of Rockets is made
for a particular bagpipe, and they should never be "swapped out" into
a different set.
